Volunteering at NAWS is fun and rewarding!
Animal lovers from all over will find something that interests them within our volunteer opportunites! We have everything from cat care to event planning. We do not require any minimim hours in order to volunteer at our organization, feel free to come and go as you please! Whatever fits within your schedule, we will work with you!
You must be 13 or older in order to volunteer at NAWS without a parent or guardian, anyone younger than 13 will need to be with their parent or guardian while volunteering. You must be 18 or older to work in our Kennel Club.

**Court-Ordered Community Service Policy** We accept court-ordered community service hours only for cases related to traffic violations. All court-ordered service must be approved in advance before any hours are completed. To request approval, please submit a standard volunteer application and clearly indicate that you are seeking court-ordered community service hours. Once your application is reviewed, we will contact you with next steps. Please note that unapproved hours cannot be counted toward court-ordered requirements.

Cat person? Boy do we have opportunity for you! We have so many cats in our care at the shelter, and we are always needing more help feeding them, cleaning their cages, and ofcourse giving them love! Fill out an application now to start the process!
Get up close and personal with our rescue pups by joining our Kennel Club! The kennel club helps with dog walking, feeding, cleaning, and giving our pups much needed love and attention! A very rewarding experience. Fill out an application to start the process!

Do you have great organizational skills? Are you good with the public and are able to keep cool in a chaotic environment? We need Admin help at NAWS! This would include answering phones, greeting walk ins, assisting with adoptions, and helping the desk staff while they do their duties! Fill out an application to start the process!
Do you like things to be super spic and span? Us too! We pride ourselves on how clean our rescue is and we need help keeping it this way! We want to build a dedicated team of volunteers who are able to commit to cleaning the rescue whenever works for them. Fill out an application to start the process!
Our sick kitties need care! Our medical volunteers consist of dedicated animal lovers who are willing to come in for a shift or two a week to administer medications to our sick kitties. This will include giving meds, force feeding if neccessary, giving fluids, and giving them lots of love and care! Fill out an application to start the process!
