Making Appointments Appointments are required for both spay/neuter and general veterinary care services. You can make an appointment by calling the clinic at 708/478-5102. You can also e-mail us for more information or to make an appointment at nawsclinic@nawsus.org. PLEASE NOTE! The call volume at the clinic is extremely high, and there are days when there are so many calls coming in that we are simply not able to answer all of them. Please just leave your name and telephone number and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We do try to return all calls the same day, but there are times when it will take until the next business day due to the incredibly high number of calls. If you are in need of a general veterinary care (wellness) appointment and are hoping to get in that day, you can try to come into the clinic as a walk-in and we will squeeze you in if at all possible.
Spay/Neuter Appointments Please do not give your pet any food after midnight the night prior to surgery. You should drop your pet off on the morning of surgery between 7:00-7:30 a.m. Please leave your pet in the car until you have checked in and completed all paperwork. When you check in you will be told what time you can pick your pet up that evening. All pets go home the same day, no overnight stay is required. Cats must be taken home in a carrier, and only ONE cat is permitted per carrier. This is for the safety of the cats. After anesthesia, cats can become aggressive and might end up hurting one another if placed in the same carrier. There are NO exceptions to this rule! Feral cats MUST be brought in humane traps, not in crates or carriers. This is for the safety of the staff, as well as the cat. Only ONE cat per trap. There are NO exceptions to this rule.
Payment Information Due to the high number of returned checks, we are no longer able to accept personal checks for payment. Sorry! Cash or Credit Card (with a $1 transaction fee) are acceptable forms of payment and payment is due upon check-out.
